It’s Monday. How YOU Doin’?

You know what day it is…

I can’t say that this particular Monday is being very kind to me. I was up half the night feeling ill. It appears that I have some sort of stomach virus or foodborne illness. Yuck.

2018 hasn’t been the best of years for me, health-wise, has it? IS THIS WHAT HAPPENS AS YOU APPROACH 30? If it is, well, maybe I don’t want to do it. Take it back!

Other than being sick and another impending life crisis on the way, I had a pretty good weekend. I got some more writing done. I’ve been making pretty good progress on one of the books I’ve been working on. I mean, I think I am, anyway. It’s progress, anyway, whether “good” or “bad”. I also started another short-story, just for fun. And, of course, there was lots of snuggling going on with these precious little faces:

I’m more than halfway finished with Darker Shade of Magic. It’s so good that I haven’t wanted to put it down! Why didn’t you guys tell me to read it sooner?!

Oh, wait…you did. Several times…

Did you finish reading any books this weekend? What did you read?

  1. I spent all weekend migrating my blog over here to wordpress and I still have 5 pages of reviews that aren’t formatted x_x

I feel you on the aging thing though. I’m turning 24 this year and I already feel OLD.

  2. Oh I hope you’re feeling better, Kiersten! It sure sucks to be sick, especially when there’s so much to do… I’m glad to hear the writing is going nicely, I can’t wait to see your progress (if you ever feel like sharing with us, that is, it would be awesome ^^)
Your fluff balls are sooo cute! Pet snuggling, especially when we’re feeling a bit down, is always the best ❤
Also, DSOM was an amazing book. I actually have to read the third one and have no idea why I haven't yet? What is wrong with me??

    1. Being sick sucked, but at least I got some writing done. So I guess it wasn’t all bad. (Plus I got lots of animal snuggles. Those are the best way to cheer you up when you’re sick!) I will have to start sharing some writing from the book sometime, if people are interested.

If the second and third book in the Shades of Magic series are as good as the first then I am going to be buying them ASAP. It has such a cool concept for a magical world (or worlds, I should say), but it’s not over the top like some epic fantasies.

      1. Yeah, it wasn’t all bad! It annoys the heck out of me to be sick but it has its advantages especially if you have your furry ones with you ^^
I definitely would, and I’m sure more people do too!
I really liked the first and second books, though I don’t think I’ve actually reviewed them so I kind of forgot about most things… Which is a bit of a shame. I’ll try and re-read them before getting to the third one. But I do remember I enjoyed them so I think you’ll be very pleased 🙂
